A Good Friendship is Priceless

The last 24 hours have been wonderful. Last night, a good friend that I had lost touch with a couple of years ago sent me an email through a social networking site she had joined. We spoke on the phone for the next three hours, catching up on all that we had missed. She’d had a serious operation, moved into the country and was recovering well from a debilitating anxiety disorder that has plagued her since she was a child.

Software Change & Host move

I’ve just spent the evening setting up WordPress. I’m tired of Blogger taking forever to publish my files and wasn’t happy with the comments setup either. Why on earth are you allowed to customise your template, but not the comments page? It was really irking me, gah! Plus, I’m always a little uncomfortable using third-party services, you never know if they’re going to stop working or force unwanted changes on you.

X-Factor looking good this year

I’ve just spent a couple of hours parked in front of the telly watching the first live show of this year’s X-Factor. For those outside the UK, this is a bit like American Idol (it even has Simon Cowell as one of the judges), but there are four categories instead of just the one – Boys, Girls, Groups and Over-25s. Each judge mentors one category, so there is also competition between them and the bickering can be hilarious at times.
