Things I’m doing
  • Getting ready for Christmas!
Thoughts on this month

Weather is getting colder and it’s making me a bit miserable.

Got the universal credit review done and no changes to our benefits.

Eldest had his college interview and been made a conditional offer of a place. We went to see their performance of the Addams Family so he has an idea what kind of production he’ll be involved with. He’s quite overwhelmed, but still seems happy with his course choices.

The PSHE meeting at youngest’s school was informative and it was great to meet some other parents. The nominations for the parent governor position were sent out, but I don’t yet know if I’ve been successful. I doubt it as the other candidates look more experienced.

We had a successful work launch towards the end of the month, it’s great to see plenty of demand.

Youngest has had some issues at school. He’s become quite possessive of a friend and gets particularly upset when this friend chooses to talk to another student he doesn’t like. The school is working with him to help build resilience and is keeping in touch so we can support him together. He’s also been having sleep anxiety after a bad night. On a positive note, he received glowing feedback at his first parent’s evening and his learning is coming on in leaps and bounds.

Chill time has been mostly spent researching new apps and tidying up my bloated devices. I haven’t been watching a specific show this month as I’ve been really tired when we usually settle down for telly in the evenings.

I tried a new coffee subscription, but cancelled after one delivery as the company announced a 20% price increase. I liked the concept of a different coffee every month, but not at over £50 a kilo! Going back to my trusted brands for now and perhaps I’ll try something new in 2026.

What’s ahead?

Getting gifts sorted for Christmas. Aiming to have two product launches next month so we have enough money.

Eldest’s final high school parent’s evening is coming up. Going to be a bit emotional at all these events I think.

Excited to watch the new season of Stranger Things, but also want to wait until it’s finished so I can binge-watch! Got to avoid the spoilers!

Looking forward to Christmas in general and having a couple of weeks off from school.
