This is where I post a monthly snapshot of my life. Need to know what a "now" page is? Derek Sivers explains it all.
Lovely 23rd Birthday
Well I guess it’s about time I blogged, eh? Been busy as usual, eat sleep and work!
My 23rd birthday has been and gone and it was quite a pleasant one too. I got my navel pierced with a lovely blue double-jewelled bananabell – it wasn’t particularly painful and I really like it. I kinda miss being able to lay on my tummy sometimes though. 😀
I got loads of money from my family and friends which is always nice, and more cards than I’ve had in a long time this year. D and J bought me some lovely make-up accessories and the cutest toy cow!
Then in the evening I went round to see D and J and they’d thrown me a fantastic surprise party – I’ve never had one before! Even P had known about it since June, lol, and I hadn’t sussed a thing! D had prepared tons of finger-food including prawn vol-au-vents, sandwiches, party sausages, pizza, sausage-rolls and savoury eggs. To top it all off, she’d made a delicious trifle and I was presented with a chocolate birthday cake!
After all the excitement that day, not a lot has happened. I’ve just been working as much as possible. Over the bank holiday weekend me and P did lots of hours because the pay was around £10 an hour. We did 20 hours between us on the Monday alone.
Saw mum on Tuesday and she bought me a new DVD player for the bedroom. It’s pretty good too – multiregion and plays DVD-R discs.
Considering all the money I got for my birthday though, we are now typically skint again. To top it all off, the brake pads on the car have completely worn away and we have no money to fix them. Plus we need petrol.
Payday is the 10th of September. Roll on.
Oh, nearly forgot to mention. That annoying father of mine is in trouble again. This time with the law. Apparantly, he was stopped for having no car tax about 18 months ago. While this sort of thing might not surprise me, I was stunned to hear it happened in Wiltshire. Only about 200 miles from here. Now my father is not in particularly good health and I guarantee there was no way he could have driven that far.
So, he’s been ordered to attend court in mid-September and if he doesn’t, he will be arrested. In his usual fashion, he doesn’t seem to realise the seriousness of the situation. I’ve been told that if a doctor writes to the magistrate indicating he is too ill to attend court, he will not have to go. However, good old dad doesn’t want to see the doctor either.
Well, he’s gonna have to make a choice – doctor or court. I know which one I’d prefer.
I’ll update on this when there’s more info….
Current Mood: Feeling quite happy and content actually.
