Phillip Gets Sacked

Okay, I wasn’t going to blog today because, frankly, I really didn’t feel like it. We had some bad news yesterday – P was sacked from his job. The official reason was that they were overstaffed and needed to cut back. We, of course, knew that this was bollocks and that the boss just doesn’t like P. Unfortunately, because he’s been employed there less than a year, he has no rights. So we’re off job-hunting this week.

Because the kids are on half-term this week I haven’t had any work, so my boss (Gordon) asked me to de a leaflet drop for the company yesterday. Only about £20 for a few hours work, but it’s money. I’ve got two huge blisters on my big toe from all the walking, lol. Bumped into an old friend from PC World (where I used to work), and had a chat for a few minutes. It’s nice to see old faces who recognise you.

The reason I decided to blog today was because P did something amazing for me that I just had to write about. One of my goldfish (Kira) died this evening and I was very upset because I’d had her for 5 years and now she had just dropped dead. Then P took me aside and decided to tell me something. Apparantly, Kira died roughly 4 years ago and P replaced her rather than tell me she had died. He also did it again when the second one died a couple of years later. So it wasn’t really my Kira.

I couldn’t believe he had done this for me. It’s like being a little child who’s dad doesn’t want to hurt her with the news that her beloved kitten/puppy has died, so he buys a replacement. It was so incredibly sweet of him, and it was so strange to realise that there are still things I don’t know about him. He still manages to surprise me after nearly 5 years together.

I love you baby. Thank you.
