Well, I am knackered. I’ve just spent a couple of hours repainting part of my dining room and I’d forgotten how much hard work it was. Or, more likely, how incredibly unfit I am. I only got one wall done with the first coat. I know that doesn’t seem much, but I had to move all the furniture across to the other side of the room first. It’s not a big room, but there’s plenty of stuff in it and I had to keep juggling where things went lol. Anyway, I’m not too happy with the colour at the moment – it’s magnolia and, compared to the deep peach it’s going over, it looks a bit cold.
Hubby decided to give a few of our fishtanks a hefty water change and take care of the algae problem we’ve been having recently. We’ve still got the brackish tank and the community tank to do, but they’re smaller. Yes, we have a helluva lot of fish.
I went to visit my mum yesterday and gave her a new mobile phone as an early Christmas present. She managed to dig out an old photo of when I was May Queen at my primary school – I was just 6 years old and I can still remember that day (and when my name was pulled out of the hat) very clearly. She let me borrow it so I can scan it in and have a copy for myself.
Talking of scanning, I bought hubby a new all-in-one printer for Christmas. The old HP has finally given up which is a bugger as we only bought new cartridges for it a couple of weeks ago. I’m letting him use it early as he uses it for his business and he won’t get his custom greetings cards done in time for the holiday otherwise. That should arrive tomorrow.
Also tomorrow, we have an engineer from Virgin Media engineer coming round. Remember how I praised them in my last post? Well, the service was great for a couple of days but then it went tits up again. Support were less helpful this time around and we’ve had to wait three days for an appointment. They did acknowledge it was obviously something wrong with their equipment though, so at least we won’t have to argue that point.
