Well, I’ve just managed to waste an entire hour thanks to StumbleUpon. After seeing quite a few recommendations, I registered and can now see why people find it so addictive. There’s even a strange urge to revisit favourite sites and “discover” them.
One of the interests I chose was quizzes and that’s been the bulk of my browsing for the last 60 minutes or so. I found the following personality test from Color Quiz eerily accurate:
Your Existing Situation
Avoids excessive effort and needs roots, security, and peaceful companionship. May be physically unwell, in need of gentle handling and considerate treatment.
Your Stress Sources
Seeks independence and freedom from any restriction and therefore avoids obligations or anything which might prove hampering. She is being subjected to considerable pressure and wants to escape from it so that she can obtain what she needs, but tends to lack the necessary strength of purpose to succeed in this.
Your Restrained Characteristics
Feels she is receiving less than her share, but that she will have to conform and make the best of her situation.
Willing to become emotionally involved as she feels rater isolated and alone. Egocentric and therefore quick to take offense, though she tries to avoid open conflict.
Your Desired Objective
Her need to feel more causative and to have a wider sphere of influence makes her restless and she is driven by her desires and hopes. May try to spread her activities over too wide a field.
Your Actual Problem
Feels restricted and prevented from progressing; seeking a solution which will remove these limitations.
Your Actual Problem #2
The tensions induced by trying to cope with conditions which are really beyond her capabilities, or reserves of strength, have led to considerable anxiety and a sense of personal (but unadmitted) inadequacy. She reacts by seeking outside confirmation of her ability and value in order to bolster her self-esteem. Inclined to blame others so that she may shift the blame from herself. Anxiously searching for solutions and prone to compulsive inhibitions and compulsive desires.
I suspect I’ll be doing a lot of stumbling in future, especially if it’s this much fun. My primary aim in registering was to a) get my blog listed and b) to find other interesting blogs. Haven’t found any of the latter yet, guess I’ll need to tweak my settings a bit. In the meantime, if you have an account and you like me or my blog, feel free to add me as a friend.
Oh, my apologies for not blogging yesterday – I spent many hours tweaking the blog layout again. I’ve also added some ickle button adverts, hope you don’t find them too intrusive. Actually, I hope they appeal to you, a lot of them are for personal sites just like mine.
