For the last few days, I’ve been tearing my hair out trying to discover why my archives page wasn’t working properly. After scouring the net for clues and advice, I suddenly wondered if it had anything to do with the archives folder that Blogger generated back before I started using WordPress. So I renamed the thing and voila! archives are now working.
Gawd, I can be such a doofus sometimes. shakes head
Anyway, it’s been rather quiet around here lately. My aforementioned long-lost friend has been helping me and hubby trace our family trees, she’s rather skilled at it. I must say it’s been fascinating – we’ve traced hubby’s ancestors on one side back to the late 1600s! My line has been a little more difficult, so I’ve had to order a marriage certificate to get things moving again. Also seems my ever-unreliable father fibbed about the death of my grandfather, just to make things more awkward. I’m looking forward to learning about that side of the family though, especially as they have a very unusual surname.
Oh, we bought a new vacuum cleaner today! Would you believe the chap who sold the one on eBay for £75 had another one? I think he takes in faulty ones and refurbishes them or something, he’s welcome to take our old DC01s if he wants them lol. We should be picking that up tomorrow and then I can do some decent cleaning at last!
