I’ve just spent the last few hours installing Windows Vista on my machine. I’ve been resisting it for the last year, especially as I’ve heard so many horror stories about it, but PC World had an offer I couldn’t refuse – Only £99.99 for the Home Premium upgrade edition. The install went surprisingly smoothly, usually I get several tear-my-hair-out moments with bits of uncooperative hardware or dodgy drivers. That said, I did have a hard time getting my email working and had to make a few changes to my accounts after finding a workaround.
Now I’m just loading all my software back on (what fun) and then I might settle down for an hour and replay Scratches. I have just installed the Director’s Cut and the new patch with all-new graphics and am looking forward to it. If you like a good creepy game, give it a look – this will be the third time I’ve played it and it’s still a great game.
Last night was incredibly boring. We had a power cut just before 3am that lasted for nearly 2 hours. I was in the middle of doing stuff online and hubby was cooking something to eat (don’t laugh, being a night-shift worker he does that sort of thing lol). So, we’re sitting there with a couple of candles, twiddling our thumbs and eating barely-cooked burgers. Hubby has had a bit to drink and is acting silly, I’m just frustrated that I can’t get on with what I was doing. Finally the power comes back on, by which time we’re ready for bed.
Tomorrow I’m off to visit the friend I mentioned a few posts ago. I’ve got to get hubby to dig our telescope out of the loft as she wants to borrow it. I should also be getting that vital marriage certificate I mentioned previously and then I can get back to learning about my ancestors. Lots to do really, perhaps I’ll have something interesting to blog about in the evening.
