Finally, I’ve gotten off my butt and made my own template. I’ve never liked using somebody else’s work, so this was niggling at me all week.
It’s not my finest piece of design, largely because I haven’t done much web design for the last couple of years and so I’m a bit rusty. But I’m quite chuffed with how it’s turned out.
As well as wanting to create something of my own, after looking at other people’s blogs recently I felt mine looked a bit teenish. I wasn’t sure that readers would take me seriously (not that I take myself seriously most of the time lol) or would perhaps not even get as far as reading the entries. My age was showing, I’m used to interacting with the under-20 crowd. Now it seems that blogs are a much more professional affair – or perhaps I’m just getting old and it stands out to me more.
In other news, I was very excited today. Our yellow-naped amazon has developed a second yellow nape feather. At last, people will cease saying “That’s a yellow-naped amazon? But she has no yellow nape” whilst looking confused. I will no longer have to explain that she hasn’t grown them in yet, instead I will proudly show off the two tiny feathers that have come in over the last 6 weeks. Yes, I am a very proud birdy mum. 😀
