Been helping hubby setup an advertising account on his site today with a fairly new company called Project Wonderful. They have an interesting system of advertising where you bid on the site you want your ad to appear on and the highest bids get the spaces. It’s all very clever and easily tweakable so you get exactly the kind of promotion you want, on the sites you want and at an affordable price.
The size of your ad can range from a little button to a huge skyscraper or full-size banner. You pay a daily rate for each site your ad appears on, no more pay-per-click which encourages click fraud. I’ve even promoted Online Goddess through it – it’s only costing about 3 US cents a day for my button to appear on a couple of good sites. The pageviews-to-click ratio seems pretty good too, but make sure you choose sites that display ads clearly to achieve this – some stick the ads right at the bottom of their page, which doesn’t do much good.
I’ve also been fixing some graphics in Photoshop for a friend. Took me the best part of two hours to edit out some unwanted text. Said friend now understands the importance of saving her PSD files.
Didn’t win that eBay auction unfortunately. It did go for a good price, but it’s the end of the month and I’m practically skint as always. I’m sure it will come up again.
