Last few days have been busy. Found out that we are in credit on the mortgage and don’t need to pay for two months. Thought we’d treat ourselves, so on Wednesday we bought a new digital camera from Dixons. It’s a gorgeous Kodak SLR-type.
When we arrived home, P had a moment of insanity and locked the keys in the car. So, there we were, standing outside our house and car unable to get into either one. After several trips to Halfords (at the end of the street) for some advice and nearly two hours of trying to force the lock with a piece of welding wire, we gave in and borrowed a neighbour’s hammer.
The rear quarter-panel now has a stylish bit of bin-liner for a window. hehe…
On Thursday we took a trip to the zoo. Saw lots of new enclosures and I particularly loved the underwater sea-lion tunnel. Took loads of photos.
Friday we decided to go see Return Of The King at last. I should have known better than to go on such a busy night. When we arrived the cinema was close to full and the only seats where in the row 2nd from back. Not normally a problem, but for these two 12-year olds who were nattering constantly for the first hour. They weren’t even whispering, they were just rabbiting on like no one else was there. I felt really uncomfortable and was finding it hard to concentrate.
Finally, P lost his temper, turned around and said “Oi, kid! Shut up or I’ll have you thrown out. Both of you!” I was worried they would retaliate as kids often do these days, but apparently they looked terrified and kept quiet for the rest of the movie. There was also a couple of teenage girls in the far corner who were also gossiping away. The woman in front of us disappeared and returned a moment later with a security guard who went and had a discreet word. They were also quiet for the duration of the film.
Saturday was a day of rest. I spent most of the evening downloading torrents. Today is Mother’s Day, but mum isn’t home. I’ve left a message and hopefully she’ll call me when she finishes work.
