I’m feeling a bit strange today. Don’t know why, but I was having bad dreams about where I used to work. I’ve been having strange dreams in general lately. Usually to do with the end of the world. Prophecies? Or just plain nonsense?
There are three things that terrify me in my nightmares – tornadoes, electricity pylons and nuclear bombs. Strange combination, I know. They don’t always appear together.
I find tornadoes and pylons scary for the same reason. I am terrified of heights and they both go high up in the sky. Also, I am (very slightly) agoraphobic and you tend to see these things in isolated, open areas (fields etc).
Nuclear bombs don’t really need an explanation. I’m sure the majority of people have a deep fear of them, they just don’t think about it much. Although with the current war and terrorism issues, it’s coming to the forefront of people’s minds.
Tornadoes usually chase me in dreams, or I am travelling towards them and unable to turn back. I tend to come across pylons when out walking and I freeze in fear. Nuclear bombs land some distance away from me, but I can see the impact and the oncoming shockwave and my nightmares end in me (unsuccessfully) trying to get away from it.
