Just a brief blog ’cause I’m tired. Took my first live calls at work today and it was great. I was incredibly nervous, but everything came together when I got on the phones.
My “preceptor”, Caron, was really nice and said I was doing far better than trainees usually do. She said I had an excellent telephone voice, was calm and understanding, and got all the details accurately and quickly. Happy me!
On my next shift (Friday) I’ll be getting assessed, ready to take calls without supervision. Hopefully, I can start doing proper shifts within the next couple of weeks. I can’t wait.
The job is certainly not an easy one, but I think I can manage it. Experience can only make you better.
Got an email from a friend who has a band today. They’ve got a local gig in a couple of weeks and I’d like to go along. All a question of finances. On Friday, I’m gonna have a night in with D watching movies, so it’ll be a nice ending to the week.
