Nice Comments and Job Induction

Courtney, a Q-Bee member, sent me a really nice email:

Wow.. after reading your personal stuff on your site, I’ve decided something. I’m officially going to quit bitching. I thought I had it tough.. Now I realise how wrong I am. I just think it’s amazing how you managed to make it through everything. …. Yeah.. so not to sound weird, but I found your personal history inspiring. I’m glad to see that things do get better, for I too have many, well, “mental” disorders.

It’s lovely when people say things like that.

Well, yesterday I had a quick induction at my new workplace. I have to say, it looks really nice. The people are so friendly and concerned about how comfortable you are, the office is almost cosy, and it just seems to have a great atmosphere.

It’s ocurred to me that I haven’t actually explained what I’m gonna be doing. Basically, I’m going to be one of the call handlers who answer the phone when members of the public ring NHS Direct. NHS Direct is a medical advice line where you can call and speak to a nurse or find out any information about health issues. I’ll just be taking details and passing them to the nurses to call people back, but it is a very skilled job and requires a lot of intensive training. The hours are varied as it’s a 24hr service.

Just thought I’d share that with you.
