Wahey! Good news! I have a job! does happy dance
Yep, I finally got offered some part-time work at the taxi company as a child escort. For those of you that think this is something “adult” in nature, I’ll offer the job description.
Basically, the taxi company has a contract with social services to take kids to school. By law, there have to be at least 2 adults in the car – the driver (obviously) and the escort (me). I just have to sit with them, make sure their seatbelt is fastened and that they are safe and comfortable on the journey.
I’ll be working Monday to Friday, but with different hours. On Monday and Friday, I accompany 2 kids to/from London. On Tuesday to Friday mornings I’ll be doing a local trip across town and back. All in all, it’ll earn me about £50 a week, which is a damn site better than the £0 I’m on now.
So that’s that. In other news, the exhaust has gone on the car. Cursed thing couldn’t have lasted ’til next week when we get another one! Put a bit of a dampener on the good news but hey, that seems to be life around here.
