I Got Sacked

Whoah! What a morning.

In a nutshell….. I got sacked. Yep.

I turned up for work this morning, feeling a bit anxious about going in after Friday. Little did I know how bad it all was.

Most of the temps arrive on the agency bus at 9:30, but I go in with P at 9. Everything seemed fine. Then about 9:20, P got called into the manager’s office. When he came back he was fuming.

Quentin (the boss), had said that when the agency bus arrived I was to get on it and go home. Apparantly I am unreliable. The agency was supposed to have called me over the weekend to say I wasn’t to go in, but they never did.

But that’s not all. Because P took me home Friday afternoon, he has to face a disciplinary hearing. This was more of a shock to me than getting sacked!

I know who is responsible for all this bullshit too. Remember Dale, the arrogant little bastard who likes to make my life hell? Well he’s Quentin’s little “runner-boy” and went straight to his office on Friday to tell him about our “misdemeanours”. No doubt he didn’t bother to explain the circumstances, like the fact that I don’t actually work Fridays and had volunteered to go in that day.

That boy is such a waste of space. I say boy because, despite being a late twenty-something, he acts like a 12 year old who always wants things his own way (and throws a major tantrum when they don’t). P wanted to hit him, he was so mad. I suspect Dale will hide in his office today ’cause he knows he’ll get major abuse if he shows his ugly face.

My supervisor was sad. She said it’s such a pity to lose such an experienced member of staff. She was one of the few people there that appreciated me. It upsets me that it will be her department that suffers from me leaving.

I called the agency and they were actually quite nice to me. I was expecting an argument. They didn’t have a clue why their client didn’t want me anymore. They are going to talk to Dale (great!) and try to reach some understanding. I told them not to grovel because although I need the money, I’m not going to work for such wankers.

Looks like time to find a new job then. D has suggested I apply for a job at this housewares store at the end of our street. Her brother works there and he can introduce me to the staff. I probably will.

Ah well, I’ll watch some telly I suppose and then I’m off to see D this afternoon. Wish me luck!
