Becky been a naughty girl. Becky not blogged!!
I’ve been swamped with work so much lately I haven’t had time for anything. Today I started learning to take calls on SDOC – this means I’m dual trained and can up my permanant hours.
You may be interested to know that I got my father to visit the doctor. He wasn’t too happy though. Insisted on seeing a male doctor (he hates his usual female doctor) and turned up drunk. Fortunately, the doctor was quite sympathetic to the situation and understood he was nervous. He did explain that dad has to cut down on his whisky intake understandably, but did write the all-important letter stating he didn’t have to attend court this week. We took him back on Monday for a blood test and the results should be back next week.
About five days before payday the clutch went on the car. That was fun – not. Fortunately we managed to get a sub from work and P spent his next day off underneath the engine. He also replaced the brake pads when we got paid. Luckily we got nearly £300 each for the bank holiday weekend we worked.
I bought P a shiny new 19″ iiyama monitor for his birthday. That was a bit of a nightmare. I couldn’t find anywhere online that accepted Electron cards. I eventually ordered with Simply – well, sort of. I inputted the card details and chose Visa as the card type. A little while after, I hadn’t recieved a confirmation email so phoned them and asked why. It turned out they didn’t accept Electron cards either. The lady on the phone said I would recieve an email stating the order hadn’t gone through.
So, I found another company that definitely did take Electron – (More Computers). The next day, I waited patiently for the order to be processed. I got the confirmation, everything was great. Then came a surprise. I recieved an email from Simply saying my order had been dispatched! I was horrified! That meant they had successfully debited my card. On the phone to Simply I go and they tell me to refuse the package when it arrives. What a palava!
Well, naturally, which one arrives first in the morning? The one from Simply of course! And what was particularly annoying was that P couldn’t miss the huge box with iiyama in huge letters. So now he knew what his pressie was. Damn I was pissed. I won’t trust Simply again.
Anyway, his pressie (from the correct company) arrived at 11am. He was chuffed. His old monitor was starting to pack up.
