So, it’s been another week and I haven’t bloomin blogged, argghh!
Not much has been happening really. We haven’t got any cash to do anything, lol. We got our old car back on Thursday so that’s good. At least we don’t have to keep relying on D and J to give us lifts everywhere.
Yesterday I didn’t go to work ’cause I felt crap. Turns out it was my period giving me the blues as usual. You know, I still can’t believe I’ve been having the damn things for 13 years! I’m only 22! Yes, that’s right, I had my first period when I was 9. I’m sure you really wanted to know that.
When I felt a bit better, I went downstairs and gave the living room a thorough clean-up. Having all these animals, you see, means it takes hours to get a room perfect.
Now, a few weeks ago, our hamster (Gonads) escaped overnight. A few days later, I noticed bits of foam on the floor down the side of the sofa. Upon further investigation, I discovered some of the inside of the sofa had been chewed away. I assumed this was Gonads making himself a nest and thought nothing more of it.
Well, during the clean-up, I discovered evidence that something had been living behind the sofa on a more long-term basis. We had an old rug rolled up which had a food store inside it and a nest. Then I found a hole in our carpet right through to the floor-boards! This was puzzling.
The vaccuum cleaner got blocked, and as P was fixing it a mouse shot out from underneath and made him jump out of his skin! There was the guilty party!
Unfortunately, the mouse moved bloody fast and darted back under the sofa. So P lifted it up and then it went under the hi-fi. So we poked a stick under it and it seemed to disappear under the telly. That was the last we saw of it. Despite all the poking and moving the telly around, we couldn’t find it again. We even brought 3 of our cats in who had a quick sniff around before settling down for a nap, lol.
So last night, P slept on the sofa with Kalico the cat and left pockets of food around the room. This was all in vain as the damn mouse never came out of it’s hiding place. Not sure what we’re gonna do now. I don’t like mouse traps.
Today is kinda boring and quiet. I was hoping to go feed the ducks at some point, but it looks like it might rain soon. I’m not looking forward to P going back to work on Monday either. I really miss working with him.
Oh, I almost forgot to mention – my forum is down. I host it with a different company and they had a DoS attack a few days ago. It seems that one of the necessary database modules has been deleted and I’m just waiting for them to re-install it. Hopefully it will be back soon.
