Well I’m glad today’s over with. The blasted coach turned up half an hour late so I could have had more time in bed.
The roadshow was incredibly dull – I honestly nearly dropped off, it was so difficult to concentrate. It was all about our European strategy and finacial reports, thoroughly pointless stuff.
One major plus though. We all had a little competition where you get into groups of four and you have to write a caption. There was this photo of a guy looking puzzled with a speech bubble above his head saying “strategy is…..” and we had to finish off the caption. The best response wins a bottle of champagne.
Needless to say we couldn’t think of anything until one of the team thought up something very amusing. We tailored it to something really funny and nervously passed our answer sheet to our hosts. You want to know what we wrote, right?
Well, we finished up with “Strategy is like having an orgasm. You never know if you’re going to get there”. It got picked for the best five which were then presented to the entire audience to vote on. As soon as it appeared on the screen, everybody burst out laughing – and a good three-quarters of the audience voted for it. So to make a nice finish to the morning, we all walked away with a bottle of champers each.
Not bad. Nothing really to say about the afternoon, it was boring.
