Ingredients: Organic almond oil, organic carrot oil, organic St. John’s wort oil, organic beeswax, organic shea nut butter, organic elderflowers, organic yarrow flowers with organic rose geranium & neroli essential oils.
This was very much an impulse buy, along with the matching toner which I am also reviewing today. I was researching moisturisers (always a dangerous thing to do) and fell in love with the ingredients. I was also excited to learn that it is suitable for those prone to oily skin and breakouts.
Initial Impressions: This is definitely a high quality product, no doubt about it. It comes in a thick glass jar, wrapped in a cardboard sheath. The smell is wonderful, all the ingredients come together beautifully to create a slightly spicy and exotic aroma. The cream itself looks like a very rich balm.
Application & Results: I was very unsure at first as the cream does feel very oily. It reminded me greatly of Akamuti’s Replenishing Rose Cream, which I could only use at night because it’s so heavy. I did want to use this as a day moisturiser, so I was a little disappointed, but I decided to trudge ahead and try anyway.
This really is a very concentrated product, only the tiniest amount is needed and it glides on easily. It does feel very nice to apply and after a bit of massage, it seems to soften the skin quite quickly. Unfortunately though, it does leave me a little greasy and shiny, especially on my forehead. I don’t like to waste things though (especially when they cost £25 per jar), so I have decided to alternate it with my Rose Cream just before bed.
Review Conclusion: This is a lovely product, but I doubt I will be buying it again. It is simply too rich for me and, apart from smelling gorgeous, doesn’t seem to offer any benefits to my skin. It’s also pretty expensive. Unless I see a clear reason to keep using it after the jar is finished, I’ll just stick to my Rose Cream.
