I began using this cream back in November 2007. I’m a real sucker for rose and despite already using Akamuti’s Replenishing Rose cream, I wanted to give this a try. I was also tempted by the inclusion of borage oil, which has helped my acne in the past. I liked this product so much that it has now replaced the Akamuti cream altogether.
Initial Impressions: Well, firstly, it smells absolutely divine. The rose is definitely the dominant presence in the mix, but it’s not at all overpowering. The product itself is very pleasing to look at, mine was actually a lighter yellowish colour than the picture suggests. The little jar looks quite posh and has a dark tint so you can’t really see the product inside.
Application & Results: The cream is very easy to apply and has a light creamy texture. I prefer to use it as a night cream and let it work it’s magic while I sleep. It leaves my extremely oily skin ever so slightly greasy for a few minutes after use, but rose creams are generally marketed towards dry skin conditions, so this isn’t too surprising. I’m actually very impressed that it doesn’t leave my skin a lot greasier! I like to use rose because I’ve found it to be very helpful with clearing up blemishes, and this cream is no exception. Though it doesn’t seem to have had an effect on my acne, my blotchy patches have been greatly reduced and my skin is left feeling very soft. It only needs to be applied sparingly, so this little jar does go a long way - I’ve used it daily for 3 months and I’m just over halfway through.
Review Conclusion: Wholeheartedly recommended! The few ingredients make it wonderful for sensitive skin and it’s not too heavy for oily skins. Don’t be put off by the cost, it works out very good value for money.
