I know I’ve gone on a lot about Anita Grant this month, but I really had to do a review of this oil. I bought several different samples from her online store, but this really is the star product for me. The funny thing is, I almost didn’t buy it either, it was a last-second addition to my shopping basket. Believe me, I’m incredibly thankful it caught my eye!
Initial Impressions: Anita’s oil samples come in a little 10ml tester, but the full size ones appear to come in a nice pump bottle. I’m looking forward to using the full-size one as it’s a thick oil and tends to be a bit slow coming out of the dropper. It’s a gorgeous pale gold colour and the smell is just wonderful - a deep, heavy woody scent. It reminds me of being in a forest after the rain.
Application & Results: I like to apply half a dozen drops per application onto my palm, twice daily. Then I rub my hands together, spread it over my face and massage it in. It feels like velvet and is absorbed in only a few minutes. My skin continues to feel velvety soft for some time afterward, and the gorgeous smell lingers too. The icing on the cake is how it doesn’t make my skin greasy and it has not aggravated my acne. This is the first moisturiser I’ve found that I can use during the day, under make-up, with no sign of excess oil for hours and hours.
It can be used as a bath oil as well, though as it’s quite expensive I prefer to limit it to my face. It does feel great to apply after a bath however and sinks in even quicker when the skin is soft from bathing.
Review Conclusion: I can’t praise this oil enough. I’ve only been using it for three weeks, but it’s already one of my must-have products and has even replaced my beloved Rose Cream. I’m amazed that more people aren’t raving about it actually - have I discovered a little trade secret?
Finally, it may seem a bit pricey, but as only a few drops are needed per application I still feel it’s cost effective even for those on a budget. The 10ml sample alone has lasted me three weeks and I’ve still got a third left.
