Ingredients: Organic rose water, Fairtrade African Black Soap (wildcrafted virgin palm oil and shea butter)
This is one amazingly versatile product with a myriad of uses. I can use it all over my body and it leaves my skin beautifully soft and clean. Smells fantastic too!
Initial Impressions: The product is presented in a simple, no frills pump bottle. After a couple of starter pumps, the soap eases out looking like melted chocolate and even has a slight chocolately aroma!
Application & Results: It lathers up very well and only a small amount is needed to clean a large area of skin. I mainly use it as a handwash, but also as an overall body wash and and a shaving soap. Despite the fact it contains shea butter, it does not leave any part of my body greasy. I have used it as a shampoo a couple of times, but it’s quite difficult to see how much I’m putting in - I end up using too much and it doesn’t rinse out very easily. Read the update at the bottom of this blog post to see what I mean.
Review Conclusion: I honestly couldn’t do without this simple little soap. I have tried several other products like it, but always come back to this one. I do love shea butter but most preparations, including the raw butter itself, are too greasy for me. This is the first time I’ve been able to use such a product without it exacerbating my oily skin.
